This song was writtten while going back to MCC for my ST certificate. The words Light at the end of the tunnel were spoken to me by my professor. An American Experience show entitled We Shall Remain (about the American indian), was on TV at that time. I wanted to envision what the first sighting of a European sailing vessel looked like to the Indians.

Lyrics

Light at The End of the Tunnel (Indian beat)

Em
From out on the ocean’s horizon

D Em
There came a tree that we never had seen

We kept em fed Warm and clean…… Fine

Em
From the start there were always conditions
D Em
And the fools tried to trade for the land

D Em
We thought it funny and we always forgave them

D D Em
We thought it funny until it was sad
